Karls, my cat pet turned 6 months!
I am so happy that I was able to keep Karls despite of the reason that we are forbidden to have pets in my apartment. When I spoke with my landlady and ask her if I could keep him, she allow me and I am so happy.
Now he turns six months, he is tamer now compared before that he bite everybody that holds him and touch him on the head or tail. Now he allows me to touch him often as well as my friends and my family. I like him when he follows me everywhere even when I take a shower and if I close the door of my bedroom behind him, he won’t stop bugging you until you let him in and most of the time he sleeps beside me...
I hope that he will grow a fine pet....

My sister have taken a video and some pictures of him while riding the said horse and my mom (his grandma/lola) is guiding him.
Is he really cute?

Guimaras Island - Iloilo, Philippines
Guimaras is one of the province in Iloilo, Philippines, Ilongo (native of Iloilo) believe that if wasn't for this island the entire Iloilo will not be able to survive force of nature like tidal waves. The island is the one blocking the entire region with that kind of disaster.Guimaras is known for its agricultural crops, especially mango, they produces the largest amount of mangoes every year, it's even exported to different countries worldwide.
People in Iloilo is well-known with their traits as hospitable and sweet at the same time, even if you ask Filipinos what they can say people from this province they will say that they are known to be sweet.
I have only visited Guimaras after college, spend 3 days there with my cousins and I have leaned lately from my officemate Janis who visited Iloilo last Dinagyang Festival that the beach on the island now is developed and clean, I was so excited when I learned from her and we talk about her experience there.
It's nice to know learning something from a friend about places that you haven't able to visit for quite sometimes and it brings back the memory.
Now since summer is near here, I believe that Guimaras is also one of the best place to be, I am really looking forward for my one week vacation this coming April, I know that I will spending it on the beach, the question now is where....
Here is some of the photos of the island taken from the boat.

Add Years to Your Life!
1. Next time you're asked "Soup or Salad?" order the salad. (+2years) Italian researchers found that eating as little as one cup of raw vegetables daily can add two years to your life. Why raw? Cooking can deplete up to 30% of the antioxidants in vegetables. To eat your quota, fill a ziplock sandwich bag with chopped red and green peppers, broccoli, and carrots. toss the bag into your briefcase, along with a packet of dressing-the will boost your body's absorption of certain nutrients.
2. Learn the Law of Lard: The fat you carry today could kill you tomorrow. (+3yrears) University of Alabama researchers discovered that maintaining a body-mass index of 25-35 can shorten your life by up to 3 years. (Excess body fat raises your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and colon cancer.) If you're allergic to exercise, seat with your significant other. A Duke University study shows that sedentary men are 50% more likely work out there times a week if their partners participate.
3. Crack open a fresh can of nuts and extend your expiration date. (+3years) When Loma Linda University researchers in California tracked the lifestyle habits of 34,000 Seventh-Day Adventists - a population famous for its longevity - they discovered that those who munched nuts five days a week, earned an extra 2.9 years on the planet. Pick up your own personal mix of peanuts, almonds, pistacios, pecans, hazelnuts and walnuts from Hous of Nits. aim to eat two ounces a day.
4. Never forget that youe buddies have your back - even when it's hunched over from osteoporosis. (+7years) In a study of seventy somethings, Australian researchers found that those with the largest network of friends had the longests least of life. for the average guy, this could add up to seven additional years of existence. Yes, some buddies may encourage risky behavior from time to time, but friendship ulimately provides more protection than peril. So try to learn a fev new faces at work, trade lifting tips at the gym, or simply say "hey" to that neighbor you've never met. You can all thank each other later.
5. Repeat after us: "There is life after retirement." (+7 1/2years) Or at least that's what you'd better believe if yo want to live that long. In a Yale University study of older adults, people with a positive outlook on the aging process lived more than sever years longer than those who left doomed to deteriorating mental and physical health. Already envisioning decades of decrepitude? Volunteer die a cause you're passionate about: Selfless actions can put a positive spin on life and distract from unhealthy obsessing, reports a study in Psychosomatic Medicine.article in Men's Health
After I have read this article from Men's Health Magazine, I decided to put it in as a part of my blog, I believe that this information is very helpful, emagine things that we don't normally do will be able to help us become more healthy and alive. I dont eat nuts, from this article I have learned that eating nuts regularly will help me live long.....

Sunlight helps prevent Myopia in Children!
Having kinds outdoors each day could help our children from being short-sighted. Children expose under the sun or bright light everyday at least two to three hours helps our kids regulate the growth of the eyes, it could prevent or lessen the risk of myopia especially with children, an Australian Research Council study found.
Majority of children in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and China are having difficulty with their vision, and up to 90% of Singaporeans wear glasses by the time they leave school, noted by Professor Ian Morgan, it seems that short-sightedness is mostly a problem amongst highly educated or children who study more.
"That would compare with about 20% of Australians. We were quite intrigued by this - that for a country that's quite well educated we have a serious lack of myopia in Australia," Morgan said.
Comparative study indicated 30% between six to seven year old Singaporean kids had already developed this condition, compared Australian percentage with just 1.3 having the same age.
It was notice that most of these children stays only outdoors nearly 30minutes and they spent more of their time playing computer games, watching television, or always in front of monitors which ruining children's vision or eye's.
It was suggested that we should balance our activities outdoors and indoors to prevent the spread of myopia especially with children. If we stay like two to three hours under the sun or bright light each day we would be able to help ourselves away from myopia.
This study is part of a long-term project on eyesight.
"Remember prevention is better that cure".

Philippines Summer is Here!
The schedule that I have is very comfortable for me, less traffic and everything. Here in the Philippines, February is the coldest month, but yesterday I don't know for any reason it is so hot, that kind of temperature is being experience here between Aprils to May or Holy Week.
When I felt that sudden change of temperature especially in the coldest month of the year here, I do know that we will be having an early summer here.
Summer is my favorite season of the year. I can go to beaches, swimming, and looking forward for my yearly summer vacation during Holy Week.
We normally spend the entire week in the beach like, Puerto Galera in Mindoro or Boracay in Aklan, having this in mind makes me wonder what preparation do I need, like how much will be my budget for this year, that is the one that I have to consider, spend wisely while having a good time.
A lot of people from different country visit Philippines during summer time, I hope everybody will have a great time specially the upcoming summer holiday....
How about you? Have you visited Philippines and how was your experience?

PUSH - the Movie!
The film is somehow like a people that have special abilities like telekinetic, sees the future, can control your mind and ask you to do for them, and a lot more. Nick Gant (Chris Evans), witness how his father died when he was a kid and his father told him before he died that someday she will be given a flower by a girl and he is going to help her. The girl his father mentioned is Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), Nick ability is telekinetic while Cassie is vision of the future and they called this kind of abilities as a watcher.
Cassie's mother already predicted the future and it’s their destiny to make it happen. There is a particular serum, steal by Kira Hudson (Camille Belle) when she escape the Division (a department where the held people that has special abilities).
This serum is the main focus on the film how they fight to posses this and the division did whatever it takes to get it back. Nick has erased his two hours of memory so that the Chinese watcher can't track them or what are their plans. They have the shifter to create 7 suitcases that look the same as the original suitcase of the serum and they scattered it everywhere and hid the original.
After the big fight, Nick injected himself of the serum and the division thought the real serum is the one he injected and it did kill him, but the real serum hid by Cassie and in the end, Kira killed Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou).
The film was shoot in Hong Kong, I like the cinematography, and it’s very realistic....I am hoping that there will be sequel for this film...

Chocolates!...a Good Gift for Love Ones....
A lot of people think that giving chocolates is so old fashion and men refuse to use this as a gift because of the quantity of calories that might promote gaining weight and the gift might be neglected or put aside.
But didn't you know that by eating chocolates (dark chocolate) benefits our body, like our circulatory system, cocoa or dark chocolate possesses antioxidant which is very beneficial to our body and it also helps reduce blood pressure.
Some people use it as an aphrodisiac, it stimulate the brain and induce pleasurable sensations that could possible affect the level of serotonin in our body.
Some study say the cocoa-based prescription drug may help treat dementia, diabetes and other sickness. Eating chocolates also includes anticancer, brain stimulator, prevents coughs and relief of diarrhea.
These facts are very helpful and informative but remember anything that is too much has a negative effect. If you ate too much chocolates this could lead to obesity and can cause acne. Take what only what is necessary.
May your heart be full of love always, Happy Valentine to everyone!

The Eye - Error of Refraction!
It really informative aside from the fact that he is reviewing this, I also get to learn something about our eyes and its error.

Error of Refraction
Vision is impaired because a shortened or elongated eyeball prevents lights rays focusing sharply on the retina.
Emmetropia - it's the normal vision, visual image focuses precise on the macula.
Myopia - also known as nearsighted; deeper eyeballs; the distant visual focuses in front of the retina or short of retina, the rays of light focus in front of the retina, corrected with concave lens.
Hyperopia - also known as farsighted; patients experience near vision blurriness whereas their distance vision is excellent, the rays of light focuses behind the retina, corrected with convex lens.
Astigmatism - an irregularity in the curve of the cornea, because the distortion of the visual images, acuity if distance and near vision are decreased.
Presbyopia - it occurs in people in their near 30's and 40's. Lens loses its elasticity and is less able to alter its shape to focus the eye for close work. Images fall behind the retina.
Medical Surgical Nursing
Donna D. Ignatavicius M.D.
We must really take care of our eye, I learned some eyes diseases’ and it’s not good and has a very dramatic effect to ourselves.

Sporty Tag - Your Dream Car!
Sports car? Here in the Philippines, you must always think of a friendly way of choosing a car, you the air pollution in Manila, you cannot just simply get a top down sports car.
Since I was in college I always dream of having a Mercedes Benz, the kind of car that spacious enough for me and my family. Having my dream car will be very impossible to have for it is really expensive, if given a chance to win Philippine lottery then I will be very lucky and I will certainly buy this one.
I kept a picture of this car on my computer, and every time I saw some model that I like.
I want this one. It could be midnight blue or silver. I hope one day I will be able to have one of this or the latest model by then. It's a big dream but its part of whom we are, it gives us directions in life and dreaming is free, so better have one at least.
I am now passing this to Momi She, Leslie, Grapes, Dadi James, Momi Rhea, Sera, Eve, and all the bloggers out there. What do you wish for a car?

They Moved!!!
The good thing about the new apartment, it's close to where my sister works, the place is quite and safe, I also notice that the neighbors are friendly and my nephew Nathan will have new friends there, because there are some kids in the neighborhood.
It's been a tiring day for all of us, I will try to visit them again next weekend like what I always do, since they moved a bit far, my mom is not expecting me to come every weekend but I will still try because I will miss Nathan a lot if in case I was not able to visit them.
We have planned on putting a small nursery room for Nathan and that is still on process, we still need to gather the best furniture for it. For now I just make sure that they are properly settled before I left and went back to my place.
We have dinner together, talk some good and nonsense topics and kiss them goodnight and till my next visit. I am thankful that they are happy and safe in the new apartment and they have a nice landlord.

Eragon (book or movie) !
My office mate Rhea is really into books, it was mid of last year when we discussed about books, I have mentioned to her that Eragon movie help me fall asleep, since we sleep during daytime and work at night. She told me that I should read the book, compare to the movie the book is far better.
I read it and she is correct that the book is far more better that the movie, Eragon is a story of a farm boy named Eragon who finds a mysterious blue egg in the Spine (mountains). He never knew that it’s a dragon egg until it hatched, and the story begins.
The book covers about dragons and its riders, elves, dwarfs, unknown kind of being (Razac and Urgals) and of course humans. Eragon a new dragon rider, which was told in the prophecy that will defeat the ruthless king named Galbatorix who betrayed the empire and encourage riders to join him at that time.
After the dragon hatched from her egg Eragon named her Saphira, they journey to join the Varden (a group of rebels) who want downfall of Galbatorix. While travelling with an ex-dragon rider named Brom, Eragon have his training and learned the way of the dragon rider. They are being hunt by Urgals and Ra'zac for they work for Galbatorix (king), On the way to Varden they rescue Arya an elf whom Eragon fell in love with but she is too old for her (the book did not mention about any intimacy between the two of them aside from the affection Eragon have for her), Brom died rescuing her, then a new stranger came in the picture name Murtagh who help him reached the Varden, the sad part is that he is the son of the forsworn dragon rider and they imprisoned him.The battle begins, Eragon killed the Shade (sorcerer) named Durza who served Galbatorix during the battle and named him shade slayer afterwards, this is just the first part of the story, and book 2 is entitled Eldest...
Eragon is a novel by Christopher Paolini and he started writing this book at the age of 14 and there is Eldest the 2nd book and third which is Brinsngr. One good thing I like the book is about the ancient language (elf language) that he used in the book and what is the purpose of it and other dialects (dwarf and urgals language).

Having Hypokelemia!
Since the content of potassium in me is always below normal. I become worried every time I fell numbness or pain in my extremities especially my thighs and legs, because that's where it always started, I feel pain and if I'm not cautious enough and did not take medication right away, it will become numb, no power to move and I won’t be able to stand up from a chair or get out of bed.
My doctor mentions that I need to be very careful about this because it might trigger my heart to stop beating. I have been hospitalized and confined in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) because they need to give me potassium through intravenous and that requires monitoring.
After series of laboratory test, they cannot find anything and up to this date it's still idiopathic, my thyroid is normal and it’s not even hereditary because I'm the only one in the family who has this.
Scenarios:
1. At first I thought, it's only a rheumatism, I was working a sales person in one department store (Robinson's) in Ortigas, year 1996, I have difficulty getting out of bed, I was able to take a bath that day and go to work that day. One of my colleague wonder why I been standing since I came in for work that day and I told him that once I seated, I won’t be able to stand up easily and my arms are already in pain and I told him that I have this rheumatism. After I my third break while assisting a customer who is buying a pair of shoes for her daughter, I suddenly lost balance and fell on the floor and the funny thing is that my colleague in the children shoes department chorus in laughter and the customer I am assisting was shock because I can't help myself to stand up and the person who knew my condition help me right away, and once I was able to stand straight I continued assisting the customer as if nothing happen. I notify my employer and agree for me to take 3 days off. That is the first incident. I didn’t know that I already have potassium deficiency.
2. After 2 year of the first incident, this time I am working as a distribution clerk in an industrial company in Libis, Quezon City. I just got home from work and I am having a rheumatism again (I thought) and decided to sleep early because I am so tired and I'm in pain, when I wake up the day, I can't moved both my upper and lower extremities and I don't feel anything, I called my mother out loud to help me, she don't know what to do at that time, I ask her to help me sit and I will stand up from there but I can't help myself to stand up, there is no power and every time I pull myself to stand I feel too much pain and I can't bare it. My mom massage my whole body and hoping that it will help and it did after 2 hours of massaging my extremities, I was able to stand up and walk, I stay inside the house the whole week this time, I even remember falling again and felt nothing but the TV remote control in my hand was shattered into pieces and I haven't felt anything.
3. During those years, the companies that I work with don't provide health benefits (health card) until I was able to work in a call center (VXI) back in 2003. It was summer and we just finished our yearly community event which is the search for Binibining Marulas (beauty contest). We went out of town (swimming) as a treat to the members of the organization for a job well done. It was an overnight event and since it's summer and I am sweating the whole day and exerted to much energy, next thing I know is am having again the so called rheumatism, I wasn't able to work again, My family member and my special someone who's miles away is so worried, because after being together for so many years this is the first time it happen to me and my love was able to witness. I can’t bare the pain and they decided to take me to the hospital. That’s the only time I learned about my condition.
I suggest that if you feel something, don’t be afraid to consult your doctors, I am so thankful that it was not too late for me to find out what I have and I am will educated on how to take care of myself every time it's started.
There is a bit of pain in both of my thigh now, thank goodness I know now how to deal with it. Thanks to my doctor for all his advices.
