Birthday in the Hospital!!!

March 30 is my sister Jenny's birthday, it is an special day for us since I only have on sibling we see to it that during this special day in our family that we spent quality time together.

Night before here birthday we spoke on the phone and agreed that she will take his son Nathan to work and I will fetch him after my mom's consultations, her doctor will be coming in late and the laboratory results will be released late in the afternoon so we decided to leave the hospital early and head back to their place.

I have learned from my mom that my nephew Nathan is sick (high fever) before she left their home and meet me in the hospital, first we went to the market and have something to cook since it's my sisters birthday, I asked my sister to monitor Nathan's temperature first it was 39.4C, we gave him medication and cold press, at around 2pm in the afternoon instead of having a lower temp due to medication and consistent giving him cold press, his temperature went up to 40 and I saw something in his eyes that I felt so nervous and rush him to the hospital and stay their until 7:30pm.

I am so thankful that he don't need to be confined that night but I was really hard to see a baby being sicked and they are extracting blood from his finger tips since they can't find veins in his arms.

He was given medication in the hospital but late that evening his temperature shoot up to 41C, I asked my sister to gave him suppository medication, my sister informed me around 4:30am that his temperature went down to normal 36.8C.

It was a relief, doctor findings that he had bad bacteria in his blood that is the reason for his sickness and gave him antibiotic and scheduled for check up this coming Thursday.

I rather be sick and take all the pain that my family have because it is really hard for me seeing them suffering from pain and illness....My wish for my sister birthday is good health for my family.

I was not take any photo of this happenings because we are in panic at that time and I never thought of taking pictures while we re in the hospital.

Since summer is really here, especially in the Philippines, most of people are now preparing for their Holy Week vacation, during this season most of people from all walks of life either go to Boracay of Puerto Galera.

Boracay is an Island located in Aklan, while Puerto Gelara is in Mindoro, during this time of year this are the most visited tourist spot in the country, people gather here to have fun, party all night and during the day you can enjoy the the beautiful beach, you can go banana ride, scuba diving, snorkeling, beach island hoping, and a lot more.

One thing I never forget to do while spending my Holy Week on this places is to visit the church that they have on Good Friday, pay respect to our Lord Jesus Christ our savior.

Sorry for me because I wont be able to experience one of this places this year, I go their every year with my special someone who's miles away (Qatar), without this special person it is incomplete and I rather stay here in Manila and work.

It's O.K. for one very simple reason, a vacation will not be beautiful if you knew that you can't enjoy for their is someone you are longing to spend it with. I just need to wait and make the most out of it when it comes.

To those people who are planning to spend their vacation there, be careful and enjoy the holidays...HAVE FUN!!!

Brisingr (Eragon book 3) by Christopher Paolini!

I have finished reading this book 2 days ago, and I can't wait for the continuation in book 4, Christopher Paolini mentioned that he is in the process of writing the fourth book.

If you happen to have read Eragon and Eldest, this book is the continuation of it the title Brisingr means fire and Eragon named his sword after it.

In the very first part of the book, Eragon and Roran rescued Katrina, Eragon left behnd to deal with Katrina's father Sloan, after Arya have known this she followed Eragon and go back to Varden together.

Katrina and Roran got married and Eragon did it as their wish, In book four the dwarf king died and was killed by Murtagh, Nasuada sent Eragon alone to meet the dwarfs to know who will be the next king, Orik became the new king.

After the coronation of Orik Eragon and Saphira decided to go to Ellesmera to complete their training, at the same time in seek of a new sword since the sword Zarroc that was given to him by Brom is taken by his brother Murtagh.

He found out from Oromis and Glaedr that his father is Brom, and with this Murtagh is not his full blood brother but half brother. He felt so sad knowing this even Saphira know because Brom leave a vision in her and swear not to tell Eragon until it is time.

Now the quest for the sword, at first he decided to borrow sword from the elves but it not for him to use because the elf sword was design to the one who owns it. The sword maker swear that she will never make a sword again and the element/metal that she use to forge a sword is hard to find and she don't have any left, as per the cat riddle in book one that if he need a weapon he can look under the Menoa tree, they decide to talk to the tree and after several attempts and it nearly cost their life's, they were able to get the metal form it.

Eragon is the one forge his sword with the guidance of the sword maker, after it was fully created, it's time for him to name his sword, he think of so many names but when he mention "Brisingr" the sword lit with blue flame, it only means that he found the true name of the his sword.

Saphira and Eragon, decided to go back to the Varden and learned that the elves already march for a battle in Gil'ead and Oromis and Glaedr decided to come out in the open and fight but before they left Glaedr decided to give his heart to Eragon for it will be very helpful to him because he can extract tremendous amount of energy from it, having it, he can communicate with Oromis and Glaedr in the battle even they are so far away. Oromis was killed by Murtagh while being controlled by Galbatorix, Oromis is sick as stated in book 1, that is the reason why he died, Glaedr died as well like what have said in the very beginning that if the Rider died his Dragon will died for him too for they don't have any reason to live.

Now they are marching to fight the Empire.... and I need to wait for book 4 for this...I only hope that it wont take long...

As we grow older, there are part of our system that is not strong as we are younger and we need to take care of those part of our human body to keep healthy and strong always. Health is the main foundation of our body, and we must take care of our body in every possible little ways for us to live happy life and physically fit to what we desire to do with it.

Eldest (Eragon book 2) - Christopher Paolini!

Since i have watched the movie Eragon and found out that it has book by Christopher Paolini, I immediately look for a copy of the book, since the movie has a big difference compared to what I have read from the book I still want to know what will happen to Eragon.

Eldest is the second book of Eragon (The Inheritance), the story became more exciting in this book where in Eragon complete his training with elf and his cousin Roran journeyed to join the Varden.

In this book also Eragon learned about his brother Murtagh who happen to be the son of a forsworn who help killed the dragon during the time of the riders.

There are so many thing that Eragon learned on this book like how the ways of the dwarfs and the Elves, and the dwarf king make him like an adopted son which dwarfs don't do and he was an exception to that because of the dwarf king.

He continue his journey and have his training with Elves and found out that aside from Galbatorix dragon and Saphira (Eragon dragon) there is another dragon which Oromis have named Glad'r, they were surprise about this for awhile and learned that Oromis can no longer fight too due to his injuries (crippled), Eragon also suffered from the injury given by Durza when they fought in book one but still succeeded in killing him.

Eragon physical appearance change from this book from human looking to almost like an elf during the elf festivities and Saphira that it is a gift from the Dragon's.

When Eragon and Saphira return to the Varden the battle is about to start and they fought so hard but still lost with Murtagh and he explain to Eragon that they were brothers and he take the sword Zarroc from Eragon and claimed it to be his since he is the eldest son.

Roran travelled from far (Spine) to come to the Varden and when their ship dock together with the people from Carvahall (Eragon hometown) they fought to help the Varden, but due to extraordinary strenght that Murtagh possesses they lost and Murtagh killed the dwarf king Hrothgar.

Murtagh asked eragon to joined him with Galbatorix but he refuses and Eragon encourage Murtagh to leave Galbatorix but he can't because Galbatorix know his real name and he have sworn in the Elven language to reamin faithfull with him together with his red dragon named Thorn.

I am presently reading the 3rd book entitled "Brisingr", I am so excited to about this and hoping to finish it soon....

I am looking forward for the sequel of the film Eragon....

American Idol 2009

ABC5 Philippine television network is the one covering the American Idol, I was able to watch this new season of American Idol since they started from gathering potential contestant from different states of United States of America.

I have a favorite in top 36 and she was not luck to a part of the TOP 13, I am so sorry I forgot her name and she is the girl stand beside Scott when the judges need choose between her and Scott, If she would be given a chance she will be a good singer and at that very moment I still hope that she will be included when they choose 8 more contestant to complete the top 13 since there are only 3 groups and they need to choose 12 originally but ended to 13 contestant afterwards.

To continue, I am still happy that some of my favorite like Lil, Adam and Danny is part of the Top 13, amongst them Lil is my favorite and i hope that she could make it til the end.

I have seen the show last night, it's a replay but still worth watching for I have no idea what happen why Jorge and Jasmine was remove from the competition. They all sung songs of Michael Jackson, Like all the judges say, Jorge has a good voice but he choose a song that is not good for him. Lil was great with her performance and so flawless with her song, Adam is so natural and really give his best with Black and White number, Danny is enjoying himself on the stage and have the crowd sing with him.

I hoping to watched more of this Idols and I will as long as my schedule permits because I work at night and ABC5 show it at night as well or during my sleeps.

I really like it when Simon and Paula argued about certain things in the show, it is so cute like my office mate says.

TOP 13

Watchmen Movie!

I have seen the trailer of this film and last weekend I was so eager to watch it and after watching, I felt so disappointed, the movie didn't not meet my expectation.

The movie was adapted from the the comic book written by Alan Moore, I have not read the comic book, so I can't really compare it, but the the bottom line is I am not well pleased of what I have seen in the movie.

It seems that this vigilantes have been outlawed and rising some sort of ward with Soviet Union threaten a devastating nuclear war. It was also it the movie that since Dr. Manhattan sided United States, so the Soviet wont do anything to attack them.

There are so also killing between this heroes like when Ozymandias killed the Comedian because he learned his plan of devastation. there is also rape amongst them when The Comedian raped Silk Spectre/Sally Jupiter and had a child due to this which is Silk Spectre II/Laurie Jupiter and Laurie learn who was his real father through Dr. Manhattan.

After hiding and living like a normal person this super heroes Jupiter and Nite Owl II decided to solve crime again and Dr. Manhattan went to Mars to create a new civilization and went back to earth and take Jupiter and she make him regain interest towards humanity.

While on Mars Kovacs and Dreidberg search to stop Veidt about his plan which have killed 150 milions of people because they fail to stop him and the blame was adrress to Dr. Manhattan and after this he decided to leave earth and forget about humanity.

The effects are good but the story could somehow fit me but the overall rating is boring, There are even some scenes that I almost fall asleep, how they market the movie is really good, the ompression that i get frm those trailer is really superb and when I fully watched it, I felt like its better to stay home and my favorite movie show.

I am so sorry if this how I feel, because the movie really never meet my expectation, I can never complain about the cast, I love how they portray their role, It just that it was not fully justified.

If your are curious about the film it still worth watching if you have nothing important to do...

I am sorry for my words, I am only being honest to how I felt.....

SYBIL - Movie!

Before I have seen the movie, I have read the book first by Flora Rheta Schreiber and when I learned that there is a film created out from this true to life story book of Sybil Dorsett portray by Sally Field in the movie, I immediately look for a copy in one of video shop nearby.

I am so excited when I get a copy and watched it right away, I you have read the book and loved it, you will also love the movie. The role was greatly played by Sally Field, unexplainable emotions while watching the movie.

The movie is based on a true story of a girl who have had sixteen personalities and how she suffered from the hands of her mother to have acquire this disorder, it seems that is the only escape that she have to stay away from the cruelty of her own mother.

She has no knowledge of her other personalities while the other know each other, She moved to New York and since she wanted to seek Psychiatric help ever since, she met again Dr. Cornelia Wilbur (Joanne Woodward) who help her to resolve this disorder, but really the doctor herself don’t know how to deal with this kind of disorder, because there was no medical history or record that someone have suffered from a 16th personality disorder and she was the first.

A total of 16 personality and 2 of them is a boy, but with help of the doctor they were able to put them back together under one body and one memory whom they end up loving each other.

Sybil suffered from a very traumatic childhood from the hands of her mother and you could never imagine that a mother can do such thing to her child, especially with this movie with a good and very realistic portraying of Sally Field and the cast.

The film is very entertaining, educational and it won a lot of awards.

The film is very educational, you will learn a lot of things from it.....This is a film release in 1976 and won a lot of awards...

Happiness, Spread it Around!

How does happiness affect a person or an individual, are you worried that they are happy and you are not or the other way around. Are you afraid to let someone that you are happy and the person might get jealous or get bitter. I have read an article on how happiness can affect someone or how can we possible spread it around.

Happiness is infectious and can "ripple" through social groups such as family and friends - but work colleagues are apparently immune to each others moods, according to a study in the British Medical Journal.

The effect creates ' clusters" of happy and unhappy people, both socially and in geographical terms, said the study, stressing that contentment "is not merely the province of isolated individuals."]

But while the mood of neighbors and friends can have more impact on people than that of live-in partners, work colleagues are not affected by a happy person in in their midst, said the study by professor Nicholas Christakis of Harvard Medical School and James Fowler of the University of California, San Diego.

"Changes in individual happiness can ripple through social networks and generate large-scale structure in the network giving rise to clusters of happy and unhappy individuals," the author said.

"Most important from our perspective is the recognition that people are embedded in social networks and that the health and well being of one person affects the health and well-being of others. Human happiness is not merely the province of isolated individuals."

According to the study, geography can affect happiness: if you have a friend who becomes happy and lives within a mile (1.6km), it will increase your likehood of being happy be 25 percent.

They found out that live-in partners who become happy increase the likelihood of their partner being happy be 8 percent; happy siblings living nearby boost joy levels by 14 percent, and neighbors by 34 percent.

"Work colleagues did not affect happiness levels, suggesting that social context may curtail the spread of emotional states," said the study.

In an accompanying editorial, Prof. Andrew Steptoe of university College, London and Prof. Ana Diez Roux of the University of Michigan School of Public HEalth, called it "groundbreaking"

"If happiness is indeed transmitted through social connections, it could indirectly contribut to the social transmission of health, and has serious for design of policies and interventions," they said.

The study was based on research involving 5,124 adults ages 21 to 70, followed between 97 and 2003.

To assess happiniss they were asked to agree ot disagree with four statements. "I felt hopeful bout future," 'Iwas happy," " I enjoyed life," "I felt I was as good as other people".

Happiness was defined as a maximum poaitive state with al four statements.

My office mate Leslie is the one really into blogging, her blog is well known in the office and she is the one who introduce me to blogging and provided me some important tips. Francis Magalona - We'll Miss You!

Yesterday, I am watching the longest noon time TV show here in the Philippines, Eat Bulaga when the lead host Vic Sotto announce that Francis Magalona died around 12noon.

I t was a really shocking news, he is only 44 and I can never imagine that he died young, he is so famous here, everybody known him as the Master Rapper of the Philippines, he is the one who introduce Rap music in this country, his very first great Rap music entitled 'Mga Kababayan Ko", is well known to all Filipinos not only to his country but almost everywhere.

He was diagnosed to be suffering from fourth-stage leukemia (the aggressive type) in August last year.

I have known him not only an artist but a good person and kind person too, I have met him only once in Churchill, a divan in EDSA Plaza Hotel years ago, when i said hi to him back then, he responded as if I am one of his clossest friend. We talk for quite awhile that time, because I am only there to visit the store, because it was one of the account I have handled for my previous employer.

It is really sad to know someone who is so talented, very down to earth and very loving person to have died so young.

My condolences to his family....

Confessions of a Shopaholic - Movie!

I have watch this movie, I really enjoyed it a lot. It is a story of a girl name Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) who happen to be so obsessed in shopping. When she was a little girl she wish to get things that she but her mother only buys what she need and can be used for a long time, she was so amazed seeing ladies buying using a credit card and she called this as a magic card.

when she reached adult aged, she become so obsessed in shoping and she end up with 12 credit cards. One day she lost her job and thts when the problem start to arise, she can not pay her credit card and she is being hunt by a collector named Derek Smeath (Robert Stanton), when she finally get a new job with a financial company and she portray to be a well budgeted person, and she work there a writer for their magazine, which she do well and known for her alias as a "lady with a green scarf", she became famous about giving advices on how to spend money wisely but she is the exact opposite of what she wrote.

Luke Brandon (Hugh dancy), her boss, don't know anything about this and she even told everyone in the office that the collector is her stalker, then the company end up banning Derek Smeath to enter the office. Since she became so popular and she still have problem shopping her best friend Suze (Kristen Ritter) arranged for her to join a group on how to treat shopaholic.

When she show up on TV, this Derek Smeath was there and exploit everything about her shopping problem and how much money she owe. She don't know what to do after this, she even lost her bridemaid gown for her bestfriend nuptial the following.

What she did is she announced to everyone that there will be an auction/sale for all of her items. This has been widely spread and she want to pay all her debts, not to mention that she lost her job due to the said incident.

Her boss learned also about this and buy the green scarf for her, because it is her, but before that, in the first part of the story, where she really wanted to work is with the Fashion Magazine located on the same building she work with, and when all of what had happen the fashion magazine offer her a job but she turn it down because she don't fell like doing it anymore.

She was so in love with her boss, and Brandon decidedto put up a new business under his name and he hired Rebecca for this, and they were in love and Rebecca got cured from being shopaholic.

The best part i like in the movie is that when she go on shopping, as if the manequin is talking to her and at the end they all clap their hands knowing that is already cured.

She was able to retrieved her bridesmaid dress with a very good bargain....

I have read this article about tea and it is really amazing to what it can do to our health, basically it stated there that tea is no doubt the best drink in the planet. I agree with that because every supermarket you go, there's a lot of brand you can choose from that produces tea for a drink. Tea is known as almost no calories drink and have a lot of antioxidants which is very helpful to our body. As i come to read the article, i found out that different kind of tea has different functions or effect in our body.

Here are the most popular brews of tea that being sold in almost everywhere and what is the effect of it on our system. For us to know which tea suite our needs.

5 Kinds of TEA

1. Green Tea - Population studies have found a link between green tea consumption and lower rates of heart disease, but clinical trials are needed to determine if it's a truly cause and effect.

2. Mat'e TEA - one human found that a pill containing concentrated yerba mat'e, guarana, and rosemary reduced appetite, but there's no evidence yet that drinking mat'e tea can replicate the effect.

3. Black TEA - There's conflicting evidence as to whether drinking black tea truly wards off heart disease and cancer, but testtube studies suggest that it contains compounds that help fight both maladies.

4. Chamomile TEA The American Academy of Sleep Medicine found little evidence that charmomile helps you fall asleep, as is often claimed. But study found that its extract may have anticancer properties.

5. Rooibos TEA - Some animal research suggest that this South African tea may provide many health benefits, such as boosting immunity. Large human studies have yet to be conducted.
